China’s Grid pays A$500m for Australian stake
China’s State Grid Corp is to acquire a 41% interest in the South Australian electricity supplier ElectraNet from the Queensland state government for a reported A$500m (US$523m), as it – along with other Chinese power groups – continues to chase foreign assets that yield higher returns than domestic operations.
